Margaret A. Stansbery, age 91 of Massillon, and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away July 7, 2010 at Gaslite Villa in Canal Fulton following a period of declining health.Born in Uhrichsville on June 4, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Mary Ann (Fiedler) Freed.After completing her formal education at Uhrichsville High School, Margaret worked during the war at The Timken Company. The rest of her lifetime was spent raising and caring for her children and grandchildren.Margaret married her late husband, Leroy A. Stansbery on October 4, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1990.Margaret will be deeply missed by her daughter who she resided with the past 5 years, Betty J. Calai of Massillon, O.; her two grandchildren, Gene (Denise) Calai of Olmstead Twp., and Gigi Gibson of California; her great-grandchildren, Courtney and Krista Calai and Dustin Gibson; and her dear friend, Patricia Sellers of Massillon.In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Richard M. Calai; an infant brother; and her first husband, Pete Calai, Sr.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Heasley officiating.Following the service, burial will be held in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
