Mabel Ruth McIntosh, 87, of Massillon and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Laurels of Massillon.A daughter of the late Roy J. and Margaret R. (Knotts) Cope, Mabel was born October 12, 1917 in Rose Township in Carroll County, Ohio.She was a graduate of Mineral City High School and retired from The Timken Company as a product engineer after 35 years of service.She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Rebecca A. (Kenneth) Bailey of Williamstown, West Virginia, Brenda J. (Thomas) Morton of Vienna, West Virginia, Byron H. (Fiancé Joy Salmon) Frazier of Newcomerstown, Timothy Metz of Canton, Terry (Vicky) Metz of Canton, Todd (Donna) Metz of South Carolina, Tamara (William) Haines of Canton, Tracie (Russell) Schrader of South Carolina and Donald Rutledge of Carrollton.Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died November 11, 1983, Emmett C. McIntosh whom she married February 27, 1937; one sister, Helen Frazier; one brother, Dean Cope; and one niece, Carol Metz.In keeping with Mabel’s wishes, cremation will take place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 11:00 a.m., in Greenlawn Cemetery at Sandyville, Ohio with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating.
