Lynne R Tschudy

June 3, 1947 — October 18, 2014

Lynne Renee Tschudy, 67, joined her heavenly family on October 18, 2014.

Born June 3, 1947, to the late Russell and Julia (Nicola) Tschudy, Lynne was a Hodgkin’s disease and breast cancer survivor who fought her final battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lynne was a 1965 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a 1970 graduate of Wittenberg University with a BA in Education. She taught in the public school system for 30 years at Cloverleaf, New Philadelphia and Jackson High Schools before retiring in 2000. Lynne coached speech and debate and was named a diamond National Forensic League coach, voted into the Ohio High School Speech League Coaches Hall of Fame and given a Belden Village Rotary Educator of the Year Award.

Lynne was an active member of the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County serving as both performer and board member and a member of the Tuscarawas County Philharmonic board of trustees as well as singing with the philharmonic chorus in the 1970s & 1980s.

Lynne was a retired Director of Lay Ministry at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church.

Lynne was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan waiting for a World Series Championship.

She is survived by her brother, Steve, of Los Angeles, her canine companion, Molly, and a plethora of friends (too numerous to mention) who comprise her extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 11:00am at St Stephen Martyr Church, 4600 Fulton Dr NW, Canton, Ohio 44718, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Roth officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to SSMAC music fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
