Lynn A. Billiter, 62, of Strasburg, departed suddenly and unexpectedly February 21, three days before her 63rd birthday.
Born in Dover’s Union Hospital on February 24, 1961, a Strasburg resident since the age of 3, she was the daughter of Clinton C. and Alice L. (Goshorn) Prough, both deceased.
She married Roger Billiter in 1980. In 1991, she had a son, Craig. She is survived by Roger and Craig of the home and a brother, Allen Prough, also from Strasburg.
She graduated from Strasburg High School in 1979. She had been employed at The Manor Restaurant in Strasburg, McDonalds in Dover, Tusco Garment in Strasburg, Wardell’s, and at McNutt’s QuickCheck thru its several names until now the Bellstore in Strasburg. Lynn was an excellent cook, liked flowers and gardening. Many friends and family members have afghans that she crocheted. Although she claimed to be a dog person, with currently two rescue dogs, Chubbs and Yoda, past rescue dog included Luckie and Jenny.
She also got along with the family’s cats. While she was sitting outside, they would jump onto her lap and snuggle in, “make bread”, often falling asleep.
Roger and Craig brought an unwanted calf home, named him Norman. She made a pet out of him, often talking about the time he gave her a “cowlick” on the side of her head.
Geib Funeral Center is handling the arrangements with internment at Dover Burial Park.
She had a big heart, as long as you didn’t mess with her. She will be missed by all who knew her, and especially by those of us who loved her.
