Lynda Louise Heid, 73, passed away Feb. 23, 2016 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia, following a sudden illness, surrounded by her devoted Husband, Charley, and two sons, Greg & Jeff. A daughter of the late Wendell and Pauline (Yosick) Bigler, Lynda was born June 16, 1942 in Dover, Ohio.
Lynda graduated from St Joseph’s High School in 1960 and continued her education at Kent State University. Lynda worked as a teller at the Dover/New Phila Credit Union, Huntington National Bank and also at the Tuscarawas County Treasurer’s Office.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she willingly volunteered her time helping with various fundraisers, most recently, the Lenten Fish Dinners. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, Resurrection Choir, St Joseph’s Senior Citizens, and the Canton Garden Club. Lynda was a “lover of life.”
Tuscora Park was a favorite place for her to walk in good weather or to share lunch with retired work friends. Summer Showcase was also a favorite activity in the summer. She enjoyed attending various classes at the New Philadelphia Public Library, was an avid supporter of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, and traveling with her husband on Warther Tours.
The time she was able to spend with her family and grandchildren also brought her enormous pleasure. Lynda had a heart of gold and was always ready to extend her assistance to any and everyone who needed help. Lynda treasured her many friends and is leaving them with many beautiful memories of the fun times they shared.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Charley, whom she married on August 1, 1962; two sons, Greg Heid of Gnadenhutten and Jeff (Sherry) Heid of Robinsville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jacob and Nathan Heid of North Canton and Kaden Heid, Brannon Trull of North Carolina and her sister, Margaret Davis, from Tarpon Springs, Florida.
