Lydia Mercer

Lydia Mercer, 76, of Dover Ohio died Thursday July 21, 2005 at Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio after many years of incapacity.A daughter of the late Mose J. and Mattie Chupp Miller, she was born October 28, 1928 in Holmes County, Ohio.Lydia was a nurse’s aid at the Hennis Care Center in Dover for many years. She was a faithful member of the Dover First Christian Church, where during the Christmas holidays she would enjoy making favors for the many members. These gifts were an expression of her love of crafts and craft making.She is survived by one sister, Ada Hershberger of Wooster, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband Robert J. Mercer, an infant son and daughter, six brothers and two sisters.Private services and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Ken Parrott officiating.Memorial contributions honoring Lydia’s life may be made to the Dover First Christian Church, 3029 North Wooster Ave. Dover, OH 44622.
