Lurline Ruth Wallace

Lurline R. Wallace, 88, of Dover, passed away in the early morning hours on Monday, March 22, 2004 at Union Hospital.She was born July 18, 1915 in East McKeesport, PA to the late Harry K. and Daisy Lurline Kuhns Lewis. On May 29, 1936, Lurline married Robert J. Wallace. For many years the family lived in Elyria where Lurline worked in the office for the Perry Fay Co. and for the Timms Springs Co. While living there, she was a member of Elyria’s First Methodist Church and of Star City Chapter No. 325, Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband died in 1984 and then in 1989, Lurline moved to Mt. Vernon where she was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church. She moved to New Philadelphia in 1999 to be nearer her son and his family and became a member of the First United Methodist Church here.Lurline is survived by her son, Robert L. (Carolyn) Wallace of New Philadelphia; a brother, David (Wilda Patterson) Lewis of Wildwood, FL; grandchildren, Robert Lee (Debbie) Bickmire of Buffalo, NY; Vickie Lynn (Michael) Tracy of Overland Park, KS; Brian Bickmire of Las Vegas, NV; Jason Wallace of Indianapolis, IN; and Jayna Wallace of Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor and Mitchell Bickmire; Erica and Morgan Tracy; former son-in-law, Howard Bickmire. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Maureen Lee Bickmire on May 19, 1996, and a brother, Wilbur Lewis.The celebration of Lurline’s life will be on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey officiating. Members of New Philadelphia Chapter No. 222, Order of the Eastern Star, will also participate. Private burial will be alongside her husband at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst.Contributions may be made to the Music Program of the First United Methodist Church, 201 W.
