Lura Warren

March 16, 1956 — June 20, 2013

Lura Jane Warren, 57, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of Marshall W. McCarty and the late Norma J. (Leatherman) McCarty, Jane was born March 16, 1956 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.

Jane graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1974. She was employed as a steel worker with the Timken Company and retired in 2012 after 30 years of service. She was an avid quilter and was a member of the Valley Quilt Guild. Jane also enjoyed sewing.

In addition to her father, Marshall (Pat) McCarty of Massillon, Jane is survived by her loving husband, Richard Warren whom she married on October 21, 1988; her daughter, Rhonda (James) Brown of New Philadelphia; three step sons, Richard Travis (Penny) Warren of Adena, Ohio, Shawn Christopher (Nikki) Warren of Wisconsin and Jason Neal (Leanna) Warren of Dennison and three siblings, Marsha Lang of Orville, Kim (Lori) McCarty of Dover and Marianne (Dean) Balder of New Philadelphia.

In keeping with Jane’s wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Following the service a reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
