Lucy Mae Rosenberry

Lucy Mae Rosenberry, 91, of New Dawn Assisted Living Center at Dover, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, October 21, 2014.

A daughter of the late Albert E. and C. Isabel (Gowins) Kuhns, Lucy was born on September 27, 1923 at Dover Township, Ohio.

She was a graduate of Dover High School and a member of Jerusalem Church at New Philadelphia.

When not caring for her family, Lucy enjoyed making floral arrangements, gardening, decorating, playing cards, and serving as a volunteer at New Dawn for many years prior to becoming a reside.nt herself.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Ron) Schmidt of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Scott M. (Corby Bellar) Estill, Michael J. (Kim) Estill all of Columbus, Mandy L. Lewellyn of North Carolina, Clark Michael (Olga) Rosenberry of Kansas, Jessica Rosenberry of North Carolina, Circe Rosenberry of Pennsylvania; step-grandchildren, Ron J. Schmidt of Columbus and David Schmidt of Colorado and numerous great-grandchildren.

Completing the family are a brother, Robert E. (Shirley) Kuhns of East Sparta; nieces and nephew, Sandra “Kay” (Joe) Frantz, Cheryl (Rich) Morgan -Marcaletti and Gene (Ruth Joyce) Zimmerly, all of New Philadelphia and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene A. Schupbach, who was killed during World War, II; her second husband, Clark J. Rosenberry, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his passing on December 10, 1997; a son, Dr. Clark A. Rosenberry ; two sisters, Grace E. Leggett and Helen Carmack; and a niece, Joanne Zimmerly.

The family will receive guests one hour prior to services on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Rev. Frank Sapp, Jr. will lead a memorial service celebrating Lucy’s life 11:30 AM. Inurnment will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Following services, all are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Center.

Memorial contributions in Lucy’s name may be directed to Jerusalem Church Building Fund, 1417 Stonecreek Road SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 or to the Zachary Frantz Memorial Scholarship c/o of the New Philadelphia Quaker Foundation, PO BOX 627, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
