Lucinda Hayhurst, age 40, of East 11th Street, Dover, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning in her home. Born at Dover, October 15, 1966, Lucinda was a daughter of Connie (Parsons) Butler of Dover, and the late Galen Frutig. Lucinda’s father died while she was a young lady, and she was reared by her mother, and second father, the late Dan Sewell. Lucinda was a daughter who made her mother proud while growing up and throughout her life. She was a 1985 graduate of Dover High School. Lucinda was affiliated with Influent Technologies, and formerly worked for A.J. Weigand, Case Farms, and Speedway.Lucinda was a devoted wife and mother to her family of eight children and her husband, their family and friends. An adventuresome mother, she had a knack for trying new recipes and enjoying herself in culinary pursuits. None of her family and friends could ever remember a guest in her home that ever left hungry. From butter cream pies for her father-in-law to hearty meals for her sons Â? Lucinda delighted in keeping her kitchen a happy place. Beyond her pantry and dinner table, Lucinda worked to make her house her home for all of those whom she loved. Her home was always among the best decorated for Halloween and Christmas. Despite difficult odds mothering eight children Â? Lucinda was proud that her children always had clean clothes going out the door for school or work. All who knew her will remember Lucinda for her servant’s heart Â? always doing good deeds for other people. Despite some health difficulties, no one ever heard her complain Â? and she chose instead to lead a full life complete with smiles and a sharp wit. Those she leaves behind will miss her terribly. They include, in addition to mother, her husband, Jim Hayhurst of Dover, her eight sons and daughters; James Hayhurst Jr. of Dover, Michelle Hayhurst of Tuscarawas, Henry Kuemerle III of Dover, Justin Hayhurst of Dover, daughter Charlie Kuemerle of Dover, and sons Erik Hayhurst of Newcomerstown, Alan Hayhurst of Newcomerstown and Nickalaus Hayhurst of Dover. A grandson, Keaton Maturna, and four brothers and sisters, Tammy (Craig) Lemen of Frankford, Indiana, Dwight Frutig and companion Samantha Hammonds of New Philadelphia, Timothy Frutig of Dover, and Danelle (Frank) Richardson Sr. of Dover. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Dave Hayhurst and Hilda Kammer Hayhurst of Gnadenhutten, complete the family. Many will mourn Lucinda’s loss Â? but two will especially miss their lifetime friend Â? Joy (James) Frederick of near Salem, Ohio, and Amy Fisher of Canton. Lucinda’s previous husband, Thomas Kuemerle, of Winfield also survives. In addition to her father and step-father, a second step-father, Mike Butler, preceded her in death. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 2PM until 4PM and from 6PM until 8PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. The Reverend Michael Hayhurst and Doug Downs will collaborate to celebrate Lucinda’s life Thursday, December 14 at 10 AM in the Geib Funeral Center. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a reception in the hospitality suite back at the Geib Funeral Center. Those unable to attend are invited to share memories and condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s website.Lucinda’s children Â? range in age from 18 to just five years. To continue her legacy of care to her family, friends have established the Hayhurst Family Benevolence Fund in care of Dover Phila Federal Credit Union, 119 Fillmore Avenue, Dover, OH 44622 Â? and ask that memorial contributions be made to the fund for the benefit of her sons and daughters.
