Lucille Grove, age 92, of Country Club Campus at Dover, and a longtime New Philadelphia resident, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, November 22, 2006.Born at Flushing, Ohio, January 20, 1914, she was the last surviving of nine children born to the late Clarence E. and Ella M. Grimes Arter. Mrs. Grove was a longtime member of the Dover Baptist Temple, where for many years, she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. For fifteen years, she enjoyed serving others with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP). Most of all Lucille delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Hugh) Miskimen of New Philadelphia, a son; Elson (Barbara) Robb of Millersburg, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Norma Arter of Miami, Florida, 11Grandchildren, Gary (Susie) Robb of Clark, Ohio, Dennis (Josie) Robb of Alexandria, Virginia, Greg (Denise) Robb of Millersburg, Ohio, Jennifer (Chris) Hayes of Pickerington, Ohio, Terri (Mike) McLaughlin of Dover, Tim (Flora) Zurcher of Carrollton, Lisa (Terry) Schott of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Jeff (Judy) Arter of Miami, Florida, John Arter of Miami Florida, Joe (Emily) Arter of Saugerties, New York, Jim (Carol) Artrer of Texas, Step Grandchildren, Jeannie Nelson of Millersburg, Ohio, Janice Miskimen of Dover, Scott Miskimen of New Philadelphia, Mark (Marla) Miskimen of Dennsion, Gary (Bobbie) Miskimen of Colorado. Fifteen Great-Grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren complete the family. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Grove in 1971, her son, James K. Arter in 1994, three sisters; Rina Jones, Ethel Brinning, and Lucy Pongrat, and five brothers, William, Paul, Russell, Harry “Park” and Vernon Arter, and two grandchildren. Friends are invited to call Monday morning from 10AM to 11AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Pastor Jim Borton will lead funeral services there at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a reception in the Hospitality Suite at the Geib Funeral Center.
