Louise McPherson

Louise McPherson, age 85, formerly of Dover and New Philadelphia, died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 17, 2007, at Massillon, Ohio.Born at New Philadelphia, Ohio, July 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe B. Lile and Ora B. Arnold Lile. Louise graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1939.Mrs. McPherson was very active in First Christian Church where she sang in the choir, was a deaconess, attended Sunday School as a member of the Master Builders class, and taught Sunday School for many years. She will be remembered for the hundreds of dozens of cookies she baked at Christmas for family, friends, neighbors, and shut-ins. Louise delivered Meals on Wheels along with her husband for a number of years. Most recently, her delight in life was spending time with her great grandchildren whom always brought a smile to her face. Louise was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of sixty-five years, Richard “Dick” Yost McPherson, whom died April 4, 2007, brother; William “Sonny” Lile, sisters; Dorothy Lile Jones, and Margaret Lile Daschke.Her family includes daughter, Sue A. (husband Mark) Mathieu of Massillon, Ohio, a son; Terry L. McPherson of Canton, four grandchildren; Meredith (husband Brian) Bailey, of Massillon, Mark (wife Lisa) Mathieu of Massillon, Shannon (husband Charlie) Bulina of Columbus, Ohio, and Shawn (wife Stacey) McPherson of Canton, Ohio. Six great-grandchildren; Lauren and Allyson Bailey, Nathan and Jessica Mathieu all of Massillon, Ohio, Austin Bulina of Columbus, Ohio, and Brooke McPherson of Canton, Ohio, nieces and nephews and many special friends, complete the family.Friends are invited to call Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 12:00-1:00, in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Jim Borton will lead the McPherson Funeral at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather for a reception following the service.The McPherson family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601-7633.
