Louise Fantin

Mary “Louise” Fantin, 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Monday evening, May 27, 2013 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia after a brief illness.

Born in Salyersville, Kentucky on April 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Dale Patrick and Nora Sizemore Patrick.

Louise’s faith was nurtured at Tabor Ridge Community Church in Mineral City where she was a member.

Louise loved her family beyond measure, and used her creative talents through the years as a homemaker. She often referred to her children and grandchildren as “my career!”.

She enjoyed traveling, dining out, and hosting parties. She was also active in church, the YMCA, and was a member of TOPS for many years achieving KOPS status and becoming the Ohio KOPS Queen.

She is survived by her loving husband, Victor J. Fantin of New Philadelphia whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage with on Saturday, May 25; her daughter, Annitta (Jerry) Flinn of Cleveland; her son, Vincent (Andrea) of Dundee; her granddaughters, LeeAnn McMillan of Cleveland, Hannah Fantin and Hayley Fantin, both of Dundee; her great-grandson, Parker McMillan of Cleveland; her sisters, Rena (late Harold) Haney, Virginia (late George) Fowler, and Vonita (Bernard) Sampsel; her brothers, Wiley Patrick, Wishard (Louise) Patrick and James Dale (late Theda) Patrick; her sisters-in-law, Norma Fantin and Shelby Fantin; and brothers-in-law, Frank (Fran) Fantin, Jack (late Carol) Fantine, Daniel (Sharon Stutler) Fantin, and Louis (Ruth) Fantin. Numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sisters, Dolly Mae Price and Lena Patrick Courim; an infant sister, Annitta Patrick; and her brother-in-law, John Fantin.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, May 30 from 4 to 7 p.m . A service celebrating Louise’s life will be held Friday, May 31 in the funeral home’s chapel beginning at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Sandra Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Newcumberland Cemetery.

Friends are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, following the committal service where a meal will be shared with Louise’s family.
