Louise Bauer Blinn, age 95, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, January 10, 2009, in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia with her family by her side.She was born July 3, 1913, in Lowell, Ohio, daughter of the late John Adam Bauer and Anna Marie Wagner Bauer. Louise is a 1931 graduate of Beverly High School and continued her formal education by attending nurses training in Christ Hospital at Cincinnati, where she earned her degree in 1936. She married Dr. John Charles Blinn, Jr. and settled in New Philadelpia. She reared two children and worked as a private duty nurse for many years.A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia, Louise was active in the community. She enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques and tending to her beautiful flower garden.Louise is survived by a daughter, Ann Blinn Jacobs and her husband, Dr. Selby Jacobs, of Branford Connecticut; a daughter-in-law, Atie Blinn; four grandchildren, Dr. Alicia Ann Jacobs of Vermont, Kyra Rae Jacobs Foster of Illinois, Anna-Marie Blinn of California, and John Charles Blinn, IV of Connecticut.Four great grandchildren, Selby Jacobs, Adriana Jacobs, Myla Jacobs and Lawrence Foster complete the family.In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Halden Edward Bauer; a half brother, Leroy Webster; her former husband, Dr. John Charles Blinn, Jr. and her son John Charles Blinn, III.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 9:30 AM â?? 11:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib-Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will be led by Pastor Chris Costello in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Lowell, Ohio.The family suggests that memorial contributions in memory of Louise be made to Christ School of Nursing, 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 or to The First Presbyterian Church, 217 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
