Louis L. Cua

Louis L. Cua, 87, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home.

A son of the late Ralph and Carmella (DePaula) Cua, Louis was born December 14, 1924 at Dover, Ohio.

Louis was a graduate of Dover High School as well as a veteran of the United States Army. He enlisted with the Army on March 1, 1943 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He then received an honorable discharge on January 17, 1946.

He retired from Joy Manufacturing at New Philadelphia in 1986 where we worked as a Tool & Die maker. Louis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and was also a member of A.A.R.P.

Louis enjoyed fishing and watching golf on television. He was quite the handy man also, repairing many items around his home.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristine Grill, Denise Cua and Susan (Mike) Heichel all of New Philadelphia; a grandson, Logan Heichel and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hanna of New Philadelphia.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty (Dessecker) Cua who passed away in 1989; a daughter, Sally Hadley; a son-in-law, John “Jack” Grill; three sisters, Catherine, Mary and Vicky and three brothers, Nick, Ralph and Dominick.

In keeping with Louis’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
