Louis E. Swaim

Louis E. Swaim, age 72, of Uhrichsville passed away Friday morning, May 7, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with numerous health issues.Born in Uhrichsville on August 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Louis D. and Margaret M. (Patterson) Swaim.Louis honorably served his country in the United States Army before beginning his professional career as a heavy equipment operator, most recently with L & M Mining for a number of years.Louis loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed watching nature from his front porch. Most notably, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Louis will be deeply missed by his wife, Ginger (Delbert) Swaim who he married December 29, 1983; his daughter, Karen (Vincent) Santaniello of New Philadelphia; and his grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Jones, of New Philadelphia, and the late Edward Russell Jones; his great-grandson, Aiden Michael Kyle; and lots of additional family and friends. Louis also has three other children and grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his siblings.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside service will be held in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia on Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445 rendering military honors. Louis’ family requests memorial contributions be directed to any Huntington National Bank in Mary (Ginger) Swaim’s name to help defray medical expenses.
