Lori Lavelle Du Bois

Lori Lavelle Du Bois, 60, of Dover, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home following a recent illness.

A daughter of the late Stanley Harold and Vivian Shirley (Boling) Doyle, Lori was born August 20, 1960.

Lori graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1978.  Then on March 11, 1983, she married the love of her life, Charles Du Bois, and the couple raised three daughters, Beth, Amy and Meagan.

She worked as the office manager for Charles’ dental practice, Charles Du Bois, D.D.S. at Cambridge, for many years and she was a member of the Church of Christ at New Philadelphia.

Lori was an avid on-line gamer and was especially fond of playing Scrabble.  She also enjoyed watching crime dramas and visiting the Akron Zoo, in which she and Charles’ were longtime members.  Lori had a passion for traveling with her all-time favorite vacation being the cruise through the Inside Passage of Alaska.  Disney World was also a special place for Lori.  More than anything, she cherished her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Du Bois; her daughters, Beth Guinn of New Philadelphia, Amy (Christopher) Stucin of Dover and Meagan (Scott) Bauer of Cincinnati; her grandchildren, Sophia and Joseph Guinn, Zachary and Zoey Stucin and Nathan, Charlotte and Harold Bauer; her siblings, Stanley (Julie) Doyle of Sparta, Tennessee, Steven (Nina) Doyle of Rockford, Illinois and Sheila (Bill) Martin of Fenton, Michigan and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robin Doyle; an infant brother, John Doyle; a sister-in-law, Pat Doyle and brother-in-law, Dave Oberst.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Tim Hatfield officiating.  In keeping with Lori’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.  The family will host a celebration of Lori’s life at a later date when more of those who loved Lori can gather safely.

Due to COVID 19, safety precautions will be taken.  The 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are required to wear a mask to enter the funeral home.  For the safety of everyone, and to allow other guests to pay their respects, we politely ask that visitors not linger in the funeral home and to promptly exit the building after greeting the family.
