Loretha Rachel Baker, age 79, of Coshocton and formerly of Strasburg, died Saturday evening, August 15, 2020 in Altercare Coshocton while under the care of Interm Hospice.
Born in Stella, Kentucky on September 9, 1940, Loretha was one of 15 children born to the late Marcus and Effie Burton McCarty.
Loretha attended school at Madison, Indiana and on December 19, 1987, she married George N. Baker. The couple celebrated nearly 28 years of marriage prior to his passing on December 15, 2015. Loretha’s faith was nurtured at Preach the Word Ministries in New Philadelphia where she loved singing and worshiping the Lord.
Loretha is survived by her daughter, Connie (Danny) Kern of Coshocton; her grandchildren, Paige (Ricky) Harmon of Strasburg, and Cody (Rene Nieman) Grove of Columbus; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Cayden, and Chloe; as well as her surviving siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Loretha’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover at a later date. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling arrangements.
