Loma Jane “Sis” Beatty, 68, of Roswell, died Saturday, January 6, 2006 at her home.Born December 12, 1938 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Daisy (Rittnour) Goodwin. After completing her formal education at New Philadelphia, she spent the remainder of her lifetime as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.Sis could often be found routing on a sporting team, playing the slot machines or enjoying NASCAR on television. She was also a talented oil painter.Sis married her husband, James T. Beatty, on December 6, 1958 in Magnolia, Ohio. Together they reared three sons including, Danny G. (Kathy) of New Philadelphia, James T., Jr. (Lila) of Cuyahoga Falls, and Dale A. (Candy) of New Philadelphia. Her family also includes her grandchildren, Danielle Beatty, Ashley Beatty, Jamie A. Beatty, Chase N. Beatty, and Michael Jones, all of New Philadelphia and Talsa Jones of Tusky; one great-grandchild, Triska Leslie of Tusky; brothers, Dick (Cookie) Goodwin of New Philadelphia, Charlie (Shirley) Goodwin of New Philadelphia, and Enos (Anita) Goodwin of Dover; one sister, Opal; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her brother, Danny.Visitation will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cremation will take place and no public services are scheduled.The family requests memorial contributions be made to either the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, PO Box 182039 Dept. 013, Columbus Ohio 43218-2039 or the American Diabetes Association, Akron Office, 1815 West Market Street, Suite 108, Akron, Ohio 44313.
