Lois M.s. Brown

Lois M. S. Brown, 79, New Philadelphia, died Tuesday morning, June 8, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover. Born in Fairfield Township on September 1, l924, she was a daughter of the now late Frank and Verna Dessecker Stansbury, and was a l942 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.She married Robert E. Brown on December 1, 1946, and devoted her life to her family, her church, and her community.Lois was an active member of the First Methodist Church in New Philadelphia and its Hope Circle. She was a charter volunteer for Mobile Meals, and a life member of both the Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association and the National PTA. She was also a member of the Dover Historical Society, the Tuscarawas Historical Society, the Ohio Historical Society, and the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry R. and Elaine Brown of West Chester, OH and Randy J. and Pam Brown of Pickerington, OH; five grandchildren, Kate, Jarrett, Meghan, Christian, and Janel Brown; one sister-in-law, Irene Stansbury of Ortanna, PA; and many nieces and nephews..Lois was preceded in death by her mother, father, four brothers, two sisters-in-law; and one nephew.Friends may call on the family at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, June 10, 2004, from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Steven Bailey in the funeral home chapel on Friday afternoon, June 11, 2004, at 1:00 pm.Burial at East Avenue Cemetery will follow the service.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 201-A West Ohio Avenue, Dover, OH 44622 or Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W.
