Lois Maxine Knisely, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, November 2, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Omar F. and Helen L. (Nungesser) Myer, Lois was born on the family farm at Warwick Township on July 9, 1918.She graduated from Warwick High School in 1935 and then attended the Canton Actual Business College. Besides tending to the family farm with her husband Howard, Lois was employed at various places over the years. She worked for the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Conservation Association and the Tuscarawas-Warwick School District before retiring from the Tuscarawas County Clerk of Courts office.Lois was an active lifetime member of Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas. She was an Elder, a Sunday School teacher and a former financial secretary. She was also active in the Women’s Fellowship and was a member of the Builders Class.She is survived by her children, Roger A. (Paulette) Knisely of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Tracy L. (Judy) Knisely of Galesburg, Illinois and Philip R. (Cindy) Knisely of New Philadelphia and four grandchildren, Mark F. (Julie) Knisely of Warrenton, Virginia, Jane M. Knisely of Washington D.C., Lisa C. Knisely of Atlanta, Georgia and Jessica R. Knisely of New Philadelphia.Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Howard L. Knisely whom she married on August 30, 1941. Howard passed away on March 1, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen W. Knisely and three sisters, Martha Housman, Ellen Cass and Jean Myer.Family and friends may call on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas with Rev. Mike Foran officiating. Following the service, Lois will be laid to rest along side her husband in the Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the fellowship hall at the church.Charitable contributions may be made in Lois’ memory to the Sharon Moravian Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
