Lois Ann Linard

October 13, 1953 — July 11, 2013

Lois Ann Linard, 59, of Dover passed away in Oak Point Nursing Home in Baltic on July 11, 2013 following a period of declining health from dementia.

Born in Dover on October 13, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Monna (Clymans) Johnson.

After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1971, she worked in the beauty profession as both a manager and beautician with Shear Design and at Hennis Nursing Home in Dover caring for the residents’ beauty needs. She also taught at Tusco Beauty School for a number of years.

Lois then went on to earn her associate’s degree at Stark Tech in nursing. The last 14 years of her professional career were spent as the Clerk for Dover City Council.

Lois was an outgoing, loving, and supportive wife, mother, daughter-in-law, grandmother, and friend. She also had a passion for dogs and horses.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, William J. Linard, whom she recently celebrated 40 years of marriage with on July 1; her sons, Todd Linard of New Philadelphia, Troy (Megan) Linard of Beach City, Travis (Michelle) Linard of Uhrichsville, and Trent Linard of New Philadelphia; 9 grandchildren; two brothers, David Johnson of Winfield and Randy Madison of Dover; her sister, Kris (David) Ross of Stone Creek; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Cathy) Linard of Dover and Mark (Lori) Linard of Uhrichsville; her mother-in-law, Wanda Linard of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Pew.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, July 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. A service celebrating Lois’ life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Tim McCollum officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
