Lloyd R. “Ron” Everett, 63, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a period of declining health.
A son of Lloyd W. Everett of Oskaloosa, Iowa and the late Doris (Dugan) Everett, Ron was born January 22, 1949 at Dover, Ohio.
Ron graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1967 and he was employed as a truck driver most recently with Sugarcreek Cartage.
He enjoyed motorcycles and especially enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson with friends. Ron also enjoyed maintaining vehicles. He will be remembered for his generous personality and his willingness to help others in need. However, his greatest passion in life was his grandchildren and the time spent with them.
In addition to his father, Ron is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (Joseph) Brown and Teresa (Rick) Harkless both of Mineral City; his grandchildren, Karen Brown and Amber and Matthew Harkless all of Mineral City; a brother, Jim Everett of Barnhill; three sisters, Vickie (Steve) Whyde of Dover, Becky (Terry) Anderson of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Cindy (Steve) Albright of Sully, Iowa and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, George and Julia Dugan and Lloyd C. and Lucy Everett.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Tim Hatfield officiating. In keeping with Ron’s wishes cremation will follow the service. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of Ron.
