Lloyd Dale Davis

Lloyd Dale Davis Jr, 71, of Gnadenutten, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Aultman Hospital at Canton, Ohio following a recent illness.

A son of Lloyd D. Davis Sr. of Unionport, Ohio and the late Zelda D. (Emmerich) Davis, Lloyd was born May 2, 1943 at Steubenville, Ohio.

Lloyd graduated from Wayne High School in Bloomingdale, Ohio in 1961 and he was the owner and operator of Davis & Associates where he worked as an Insurance Adjuster.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lloyd also enjoyed visiting the ocean where he especially enjoyed sitting on the beach with his fishing pole in one hand and his favorite beverage in the other.

He is survived by his wife, Renate (Schloss) Davis whom he married on February 8, 1980; his children, Aric Davis of Amsterdam, Ohio, Troy (Lisa) Shaver of Wooster, Ohio and Tania Shaver of Wintersville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Danielle Shaver and Angela Bloom; six great grandchildren; six siblings, Ronald (Carol) Davis of Unionport, Ohio and Tonja (Steve) Boyce both of Unionport, Ohio, Joyce (Dave) Hitchcock of New York, Diane (John) Applegate and Charles (Linda) Davis both of Beallsville, Ohio and Donna Beckley of Kilgore, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and three brothers-in-law, Gert (Dagmar) Schloss, Bernd (Siglinde) Schloss and Rolf (Regine) Schloss all of Germany.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Michael Lloyd Davis.

In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes there will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
