Llewellyn David “Dave” Blunt, 69, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

A son of the late Llewellyn and Ella Mae (Smart) Blunt, Dave was born in the family’s Tuscarawas County home on May 29, 1944.

He retired from Superior Meats of Massillon in 1979; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters; DeLorce (Daniel) Emery, of Uhrichsville and Roxanne (John) Caldwell of Magnolia; three sons; Llewellyn (Charlotte) Blunt III of New Phila, Sebastian (Susan) Blunt of Dover and Thadiaus (Starlette) Blunt of New Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Miller, Vanessa Lorenz, Micheal, Ashton and Cory Blunt, Irvin, Marie, Ella and Llewellyn IV, Thadiaus II and Tonya Blunt.

Completing the family are a brother, Ernest Blunt; four sisters, Ms. Louise Phelps, Mrs. Doris (Frederick) Ricer, Ms. Emma Potts, and Mrs. Alice Renicker as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his companion Zenna Blunt and three brothers; Donald, Delbert and Irvin Blunt.

The family will receive guests on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor William Johnson will lead a service celebrating Dave’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.
