Linda Sue Barnhart, age 78, of Mineral City, died Friday, April 8, 2022, in her home, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Born in Cadiz, Ohio on August 7, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Don and Frances Foster Sickle, Sr.
She earned an Associate Degree in nursing and spent many years as an LPN in the eldercare field having worked for the facilities formerly known as the Carriage Inn in Cadiz and Beacon Pointe in Uhrichsville. She ultimately retired from Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia.
Linda was a selfless, caring soul who enjoyed sharing her time with others. Even in her illness, Linda participated in a clinical trial of chemo in hopes that the findings would someday help save the lives of many others making her a hero according to her oncologist.
She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, boating, fishing, and traveling. Linda also loved cooking and baking.
She is survived by her companion of 26 years, Leroy Kellicker; her children, Bradley (Dawn) Barnhart of Navarre, Larry Barnhart of Cadiz, and Julie Polen of Canton; a step-daughter, Linda Grear of Indiana; her granddaughter, Katey Barnhart; two step-granddaughters, Johnna Donnelly and Lisa Steinbauer; her sister, Nancy (Larry) Pulka of Canton, and a brother, Don (Candi) Sickle, Jr. of Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Barnhart; a daughter, Cathy Barnhart; a granddaughter, Kelsi Lynn Barnhart, and a sister, Midge Tolbert.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation will be cared for by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Burial will take place in the Cadiz Union Cemetery.
