Linda Raines

Linda Joyce Raines, age 70, of New Philadelphia died Sunday, August 12, 2018 following a period of declining health.

Born at Beckley, West Virginia on February 7, 1948, Linda was one of five children born to the late William and Gladys Basham.

Linda enjoyed her life as a homemaker, who will fondly be remembered for her homemade potato salad. She also enjoyed buying and collecting jewelry.

Linda is survived by her children, Michael (Tammy) Raines, Jr., Eddie Raines all of Beckley, West Virginia, Daniel Raines, Doney Raines of New Philadelphia, Melinda (Christopher) Hall of Pineville, West Virginia and Mary (Andrew) Wright of New Philadelphia; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Completing the family are a brother, Danny Basham of West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Raines, Sr.; her daughters, Debra Powers and Barbara Tyree; and her siblings, Doris Ann, Jerry and Ricky.

The family will greet guests Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Brian Flood will lead a service celebrating Linda’s life at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
