Lillian Rose DeMattio, 92, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover, O.A daughter of the late William and Mary Pinamonti Kerschbaumer, Lillian was born December 27, 1912, at Stillwater, O. She married her late husband, Herman J. DeMattio June 1, 1938.Lillian was the last surviving graduate of the Midvale Class of 1930. She was also a graduate of the Cleveland Cosmetology School at Cleveland, O. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and at the former St. Paul’s Catholic Church at Midvale. She was the first president of the St. Paul’s Altar Society and a member of the DAV Auxiliary. Lillian was employed by the Hotel Reeves and then as a beautician at the former Flora’s Beauty Shop. She and her husband Herman were also owner-operators of the former Herman’s Market at Midvale.Lillian is survived by one daughter, Karen (Scott) Jenkins of New Philadelphia; two sons, Dean (Gail) DeMattio of Myrtle Beach S.C. and Gary (Karen Sue) DeMattio of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Roy (Kelly) DeMattio of Pickerington, O. Marcy (Mark) Whitehair of Brightwood, Ryan (Melissa) DeMattio of Utica, MI., Karen DeMattio of Wakefield, R.I., Krista DeMattio of Charleston, S.C., Kate Jenkins of Columbus, O. and Matt Jenkins of New Philadelphia; one step-granddaughter, Sarah (Eric) Walters of Uhrichsville; one sister, Grace (Leno) Andreatta of Uhrichsville; seven great-grandchildren and a special niece, Kathy A. Demattio.In addition to her husband and her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Kerschbaumer and Della Anzivino and two brothers, Fred and Louis Kerschbaumer.Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2005, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
