Lillian Mardell Mollenkopf

Lillian Mardell (Johnston) Mollenkopf, 89, of Dover, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness. Mrs. Mollenkopf had been a resident of New Dawn Health Care Center since June 2011.

Lillian was born at Elyria, Ohio on August 2, 1922 to the late Adelbert and Maudie May (Bergan) Johnston. She graduated from Elyria High School and then married Earl R. Mollenkopf in 1942. Together they owned and operated Isaly Restaurants for many years. She was also an antiques dealer in West Lafayette.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Mollenkopf, of Dover.

Mrs. Mollenkopf was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; two sons, Alan and Jon and two sisters, Maudelyn Gildenmeister and Ledora Biltz.

In keeping with Lillian’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Inurnment will follow cremation in Dover Burial Park.
