Leroy Walter Miller

Leroy Walter Miller, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 in his home with his family by his side.

A son of the late Clarence and Helen (Fellman) Miller, Leroy was born, April 6, 1923 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

He was a veteran of the United States Army-Air Corps having served during World War II. Leroy retired from Goshen Dairy as a delivery man and prior to Goshen Dairy’s existence, he delivered products for Fairview Dairy. He was employed for a total of 48 years between the two dairies. Following his retirement, Leroy drove cars for many local car dealerships.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Fanti) Miller of the home, whom he married on April 6, 1948; four children, Bonnie (Larry) Brinkley of Hartville, Bob (Terri) Miller of New Philadelphia, Colleen (Dan) Martini of New Philadelphia and Milissa (David) Niedermeyer of Hartville; eight grandchildren, Laura Brinkley, Maureen and Allie Miller, Christopher Martini and Kathryn, Emily, Elizabeth and Caroline Niedermeyer; and one sister-in-law, Betty Miller of Florida.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lorin Miller; and one sister, Pauline Youngen.

Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Leroy’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. In keeping with Leroy’s wishes, cremation will take place following the services and inurnment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

A memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia following the funeral service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made in Leroy’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
