Lena Regina Storrie

Lena Regina Storrie, 89, of Canton, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Manor Care at Canton following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Anthony and Emma (Amicone) Leone, Lena was born August 3, 1924 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Lena graduated from Midvale High School in 1941. Following her graduation and throughout World War II, she was employed at the Hercules Corporation at Canton. Later, along with her husband, George, she owned and operated the George J. Storrie Trucking Company at Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and was a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Center where she was received the Super Senior Award in 1996 for her caring above and beyond for others. Lena was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and always generously offered her help to friends in need.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry Storrie and Dr. Karen Adams of Ann Arbor, Michigan and a sister, Rita Lennon of Canton.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George J. Storrie who passed away in August of 1988 and her siblings, Jean Thomas, Donna Boz, Jeanette Cusano, Ann Fabiano, Tony Leone and an infant sister, Regina Leone.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 29 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
