Lena J. “Nita” Snyder-Barnhart, 74, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2002, in Arbors Nursing Home, Canton, following a long illness.Born July 27, 1928, in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late, Joseph and Angelina Damiene. Lena enjoyed ceramics, crafts, word puzzles and family. She gave inspiration to her children and grandchildren by her unselfish giving, contagious, hysterical laugh, imagination, and inventiveness. Surviving are her children, Joseph (Pamela) Snyder, Charles (Christie) Snyder, David Barnhart, and Frances Barnhart; siblings, Pete (Nancy) Damiene, Frances (Richard) Mears, and Josephine (Ed) Fox; Nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; five nieces; three nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of four years, Charles E. Snyder, in 1953; brother, Frank Damiene, in 1995; second husband of 41 years, Russell A. Barnhart in 2000. As requested, her remains have been cremated. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at 10:30 AM in Calvary Cemetery, Dover, with Fr. William Metzger officiating.
