Leland R. LeMasters, 76, of Midvale, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born June 18, 1926, in Sherrodsville, he was the son of Basil and Eva Herron LeMasters. Leland served in the US Army during World War II. He worked as an operator for Evans Brick Company in Midvale before retiring after 30 years of service. Leland was a member of the Midvale United Methodist Church, Midvale VFW, and he was an avid fisherman.Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Hawkins of New Philadelphia and Vicki (Dave) Mangon of North Canton; a son Basil LeMasters (and Tammy Stambaugh) of Massillon; a brother, Dan (Alta) LeMasters of Mogadore; 5 grandchildren, Tricia (Bill) Rainsburg, Mindy (Scott) Parsons, Eric (Crystal) Mangon, Jerrod LeMasters, and Trevor Hawkins; 5 great-grandchildren, Ashley Mangon, Alyssa and Brody Parsons, Ethan and Emmerson Rainsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine M. LeMasters who died December 3, 1997; two sisters, Eileen Kinsey and Nova Sears. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2003, at 1 PM in Evergreen Burial Park with Rev. Joel Adkins officiating. New Philadelphia VFW Post # 1445 will conduct military honors. A reception will follow at the Geib Family Center, which is located adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W.
