Lela J. Headrick

Lela J. Headrick, age 51, of Midvale, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover following a lengthy illness.Born September 13, 1957, in Massillon City Hospital, Lela was a daughter of Mary Headrick of Midvale and the late John Headrick, Sr.Lela was always proud of the fact that she was able to complete her EMT training and certification, and for a period of time worked in the emergency field.Exploring the early Native American culture and heritage as well as collecting and creating replica artifacts of the time period were one of many past-times that Lela enjoyed. Lela also loved grey wolves and spent a great deal of time studying them and collecting keepsakes that involved the animal.In addition to her mother, Lela is survived by four children, a daughter, Katrina Shaulis of Massillon; three sons, Jerimy Karns of Tennesee, Billy Clemens and Bobby Clemens both of Massillon; a sister, Peggy Headrick of Midvale; a brother John Headrick, Jr. of Arizona and her former husband and close friend, Wayne Eash of Massillon. Five grandchildren complete the family.In keeping with Lela’s wishes, her body has been cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will hold private services at a later date.
