Leatha Kaylor, age 83, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, in Hennis Care Center at Dover, three days after her husband, Earl, passed away. They were both active residents of Hennis Care Centre since February.Leatha was born in Zanesville, O. on May 15, 1925 to the late Samuel and Florence (Dickson) Stillwell. She was a New Philadelphia High School graduate.On October 7, 1944, Leatha married her high school sweetheart, Earl Kaylor. The couple were married on October 7, 1944 and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. She was a lady full of grace and had a gentle spirit. Her lifelong commitment was to her family and church. She made sure the home was a place of love and care to her family. She was also extremely active in her church. She loved her involvement in many women’s circles, was a Sunday School teacher, and was always gracious in preparing food for any activity.Leatha took great pride in sewing clothing for her family, keeping a meticulous home, and creating beautiful needle point.Leatha will be deeply missed by her family which includes her daughter, Lyn Emerson of Wooster, Ohio; a son, Dave (Debbie) Kaylor of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Fred (Alice) Stilwell of Avon Lake, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Coralene (Gene) Wardle, of Tucson, Arizona.; and two grandchildren, Casey (Kristin) Emerson of Durham, North Carolina and Keeley Emerson, of Denver, Colorado.Visitation for Leatha and Earl will be held (TODAY) Monday, December 1, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastors Jeff Gerber and Jill Lovett will lead a service celebrating Leatha and Earl’s lives in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4815 Munson St NW, Canton, Ohio 44781.
