Leah Jane Miller, age 74, of Dover, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.A daughter of the late John and Frances (Pyles) Cook, Leah was born on January 31, 1935, at Morgantown, West Virginia. A 1953 graduate of Masontown High School at West Virginia, Leah continued her formal education by attending business college at Morgantown, West Virginia. In 1954, Leah married Ronald V. Miller and together the couple reared two children.For a number of years, Leah worked for the former Dover Motor Car Company (Paul’s Jeep Eagle) prior to retiring in 1998. As a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover, Leah was actively involved in church activities that included Ruth Circle, for which she also served as president.Leah enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found tending to her flower gardens or spending time boating, camping, and traveling. When the weather would not permit, Leah enjoyed working on ceramic projects and baking. Leah also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.In addition to her husband of more than fifty years, Leah leaves behind a family that includes a daughter, Linda (Randall) Clements of Dover; a son, Robert (Vickie) Miller of Strasburg; and a sister, Helen Louise (Glenn) Snyder of Morgantown, West Virginia.A granddaughter, Jessica Miller of Strasburg, and three grandsons, Gregory (Samantha) Clements and Joshua Clements, both of Dover, and Justin Miller of Strasburg complete the family.In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Cook and Alfred Cook.The family will receive friends on Monday July 6, 2009, from 9:00 Â? 10:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church at Dover where Pastor Bill Sowers will lead a service celebrating Leah’s life in the church sanctuary at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park at Dover. Following services, the family will return to the church fellowship hall where a meal will be shared.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or to the United Methodist Women, 1725 North Wooster Avenue, Dover, Ohio 44622.
