Lawrence "Larry" Babarcik, II

Lawrence “Larry” Babarcik, II, age 42, of New Philadelphia, died suddenly, Sunday, March 9, 2025, at his residence in the loving arms of his wife.

Born in Aultman Hospital at Canton, Larry was the son of Theresa Krantz Babarcik of New Philadelphia and the late Paul Babarcik.

He was a 2000 graduate of New Philadelphia High School where he played the tuba as a member of Marching Quaker Band. Larry was also a member of the 2006 graduating class of the Pittsburgh Institute of Culinary Arts.

When around Larry there was never a dull moment. He lived life to the fullest and never took himself or any situation too seriously. His wit, sarcasm, and perfectly timed sense of humor had a tendency to show up even in the most serious moments of life, often causing those around him to burst into laughter or simply shake their heads. When not making others laugh, he loved caring for animals, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and using his culinary skills.

In addition to his beloved mother, Theresa, Larry is survived by his wife, the former Jordan Reynolds, whom he married on Leap Day, February 29, 2020; his sister, Frances (Jess) Adkins of Canton; his mother-in-law, Kathy Reynolds of New Philadelphia; his life-long friend, Matt Hoover of Canton as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ted and Rita Weigand Krantz, and Lawrence (his namesake) Alverda Mutti Babarcik.

A celebration of Larry’s life is being planned for a later date. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling cremation care.
