Lawrence Junior White

Lawrence Junior White, 54, of Sherrodsville, passed away Monday, August 18, 2003, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born August 24, 1948 in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Lawrence E. and Frances Hines White. After high school, Lawrence went on to become a skilled welder most recently working for Bethlehem Steel in Massillon.Lawrence was also an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. When he was not watching sports on television, you could find him cheering on Ricky Byrd who played for the Sherrodsville Hot Stove little league team.Lawrence is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Karen) White and Gary White and two sisters, Olivia White and Linda (Dennis) McCahill all of New Philadelphia; three nieces and two nephews, Candy Gopp, Jerry White, Lori McCahill, Belinda Reed and Harold Ray. He will also be sadly missed by the family he resided with, Edgar and Betty Huff, Tonya Huff, Ricky Byrd all of Sherrodsville, and the rest of the Huff family.In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his dear son, Casey Allen White; two brothers, Paul Ray and Donald R. White; one sister, Betty J. White and an infant niece, Crystal McCahill.In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place locally under the care and direction of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lawrence’s life at a memorial gathering on Sunday, August 24, 2003 from 1 to 3 PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 328 Church St., Sherrodsville. Burial will take place at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia at a later date.
