Lawrence Garbrandt

Lawrence Vernon “Larry” Garbrandt, 62, of New Philadelphia died of a broken heart on November 27, 2023 in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born on July 17, 1961, he was the son of the late Gary Lee Garbrandt and Ruth Agnus (Northarm) Garbrandt.

After completing his formal education, Larry worked as a welder which he enjoyed immensely. He also spent much of his free time camping with family and friends and he adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Leisha (Kyle) Simmons and Jordan Callen; his grandchildren, Kielyn and Kohen Simmons; his siblings, Jane Charlton, Greg Garbrandt, Lori (John) Wilson, Lisa (Robert) Swinger, Gary (Melina) Garbrandt, and Stephanie Coleman; lifelong friend, Rick Barr;  numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Sledge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by the love of his life, Sharon, on July 7, 2023; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Charlton and Gene Coleman.

A private memorial will be hosted by the family at a later date.
