Laurinda Sue Winters

Laurinda S. Winters, age 47, of New Philadelphia passed away late Thursday evening, December 9, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family following a 3-year battle with breast cancer.Born April 15, 1963, in Oxnard, California, she was the daughter of the late Diane Marie (Humphrey) Sliester and the late Elmer J. Winters.Laurinda was a graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village, California. When she lived in California, she loved spending time in Ventura County at the beach with her family surfing and boogie boarding. She was blessed with the birth of her three wonderful children, Lauren, Evan, and Emmanuel “E.J.” Wisintainer, all of New Philadelphia. Her lifetime was devoted to caring for and supporting them.She also loved gardening and keeping the outside of her home beautiful.Laurinda was a dedicated employee at a variety of businesses; most recently at both New Philadelphia and Dover Buehlers and the New Philadelphia Court House. Laurinda will be deeply missed by her children; her siblings, Eric (Tracie) Winters of North Dakota, Holly (Roger) Bryant of North Carolina, Wendy (husband, Brian Dressler) Winters of California, and Joshua (Lindsey) Hopkins of Lewisburg, O.; her grandmother, Dorothy Benedict of California; her step-father, James Sliester of Van, Texas; her former husband, R. E. “Wiz” (Deb) Wisintainer; her dog, Arnie; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and her dear friends at the New Philadelphia Municipal Court.A memorial service will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 beginning at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
