Laura M. Redman, age 75, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, August 26, 2011, in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late John and Minnie Peacock Moran, Laura was born at New Philadelphia on August 12, 1936.She attended New Philadelphia High School and married the love of her life, Virgil Dale Redman on November 16, 1957. The couple raised four children and shared in nearly 50 years of marriage prior to Dale’s passing on April 17, 2008.Laura was the caretaker for her family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She especially looked forward to hosting holiday events and sharing her home with anyone who came by. She also looked forward to outings in which she played bingo, went bowling or took the occasional trip to Mountaineer Park at West Virginia. She is survived by her four children; two sons, Bob (Janet) Moran of Newcomerstown, Lance (Karen) Redman of Pickerington; two daughters, Vicki Redman of the home, and Sue (John) Calhoun of New Philadelphia; two brothers, John Moran and George (Amelia) Moran all of New Philadelphia and a sister, Dorotha Lang of Dover.Seven grandchildren, Amanda Nolan, Kristin, Molly, and Sarah Calhoun, Blake and Bethany Redman, Mike Belknap; four great-grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Clyde and James Moran.The family will receive friends on Monday, August 29, 2011, from 4:00 â?? 7:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Brian Flood will lead a funeral service celebrating Laura’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Burial alongside her husband will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Following services, the family wishes to invite guests to join them for a luncheon reception at the family home at New Philadelphia.In appreciation for their exemplary care and compassion, the family wishes for memorial contributions in Laura’s name to be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
