Laura B. Smith

Laura B. Smith, 84, of Wainwright, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.A daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Metzger) Smith, she was born November 2, 1925 at Wainwright, Ohio.Laura was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting for many years. She was also an excellent baker and cook and will especially be remembered for her homemade donuts. She was a member of the American Diabetic Association.One of Laura’s favorite hobbies over the years was researching her family’s heritage and creating a family tree.She is survived by her brother, Donald Smith of Wainwright and a sister, Marjorie Moore of Tuscarawas.Laura was a loving caregiver to two special nieces during their youth; Laurie (John) Haney and Linda (Dave) Davis both of Wainwright. Many other nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded death by her parents; two sisters, Sarah Beamer and Dorothy Reichman and three brothers, Floyd, Andy and Frank Smith.There will be no public calling hours and a private family graveside service will be held in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
