Laura A. Renner

LAURA A. RENNER, 78, of Stow and formerly of New Philadelphia for 55 years, died Monday morning, July 14, 2003 at Stow-Glen Nursing Home.Laura was born in Dover to the late Rocco J. and Constance M. Fazi Contini on March 1, 1925. She became a registered nurse after graduating from the former Timken Mercy Hospital Nursing School. On November 9, 1946 she married Peter Renner in St. Joseph Church, Dover. Pete preceded Laura in death on August 17, 2001.Along with Pete, Laura was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia where she formerly served with the Altar Society. She also volunteered her time and talent with Hospice of Tuscarawas County. Most of all, she and Pete enjoyed traveling and being with their grandchildren.Laura is survived by daughters Cynthia S. Renner of Cape Elizabeth, ME and Bonnie K. Renner of New Philadelphia; sons Steven C. (Mary Lou) Renner of Kent and Mark K. Renner of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Matthew, Timothy and Jessica Renner, all of Kent; siblings, Joan Manzella and Lucille Snyder, both of Canton; Louis (Rita) Contini of New Philadelphia; Mary Lee (Robert) Maloney of Massillon; and James (Shirley) Contini of Dover; and many, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by a daughter, a granddaughter, two sisters and one brother.Friends may call at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Thursday morning, July 17, 2003, from 9:00 to 10:15 AM. The funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Msgr. George J. Schlegel as celebrant. Burial next to Pete will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
