Larry E. Wires

Larry Edward Wires, 45, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, March 28, 2016 in Union Hospital at Dover following a lengthy illness.

A son the late Shelly (Wires) Morris, Larry was born November 10, 1970 at Dennison, Ohio.

Larry graduated from Dover High School in 1989 and then served in the United States Army.  Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he obtained his nursing certification and worked as a nurse for the next 20 years.

He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed football.  Larry was also an enthusiast of Star Wars and Star Trek.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his fiancée, Edith Pratt of New Philadelphia; his son, Johnathon Allen Wires of New Philadelphia; his daughter, Emily Wires of East Canton; a brother, Wayne Blackman of Cambridge and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother; his grandmother, Rachel Wires and an uncle, Paul Wires.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 6 PM at Preach the Word Ministries, 327 Beaver Avenue NE, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Lisa Meese officiating.  Military honors will follow the service.
