Larry Laverne Daley, age 54, of Dover, passed away in his home following a brief illness on October 29, 2014.
Born in Canton on January 26, 1960, he was the son of Larry Carl (Sue) Daley and the late Sherrill Ann (Overton) Brandenburg.
After completing his formal education at both Dover High School and Buckeye Career Center, Larry began his professional career, having worked the past 14 years for Meteor Sealing Systems. Larry was Meteor’s president of the United Steel Workers Union #2737.
His love for his family was of greatest significance to him. Larry enjoyed spending time with them and doing odds and ends jobs around their houses. Many will remember him as a gentle spirit.
On September 4, 2004, Larry married his loving wife, the former Tonya S. Hostetler. In addition to Tonya, he will be deeply missed by his daughter, Rachelle (Matt) McMahan of Canton; his son, Nicholas Daley of New Philadelphia; his step-daughters, Stephanie Hostetler of Strasburg and Samantha Mascotti of Columbus; his aunts, Janice DeMattio of New Philadelphia, Nancy Bordner of Dover, and Jane Daley of New Philadelphia; his step-grandson, Hunter Bennington; his dog, Zoey; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Pastor Roger Warnes will lead a service celebrating Larry’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
