Kimberly S. Davis, age 60, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, September 4, 2021, in her residence following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Born on February 28, 1961, in Union Hospital at Dover, Kim was a daughter of Sarah K. Smith Stanley of Dover and the late Donald E. Gordon, Sr.
She was employed for many years as a housekeeper for Best Value Inn and loved listening to music, being with her family, and grandchildren, and working jigsaw puzzles. Those who knew Kim were well aware of and admired her for her strong-willed personality.
In addition to her mother, Kim leaves behind her children, Christina (Steve Smith) Shriver of Beloit, Ohio, Christopher Smith of Canton, Sally Runner of Arizona, and MaryAnn Davis of Massillon; her grandchildren, Jozlynn, Riley, Owen, Ella, Kaleigh, Jace, Ridge, Trevor, and Kelsey; her siblings, Misty (David) Blackford, Denise (Tim) Carpenter and Michelle (Matt) Hans; a special nephew, Jacob (Felecia) Schiefer; special nieces, Chelsey Miller and Madison (Elijah) Schiefer as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her father, Kim was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Davis on July 7, 2021; and a brother, Donald E. Gordon, Jr.
There will be no public visitation or services. The family will hold a private celebration of Kim’s life. Cremation care will be conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kim’s mother, Sarah who was with her from day one in her battle, her caregivers, Lorie Phillabaum, and Emmert Gochenour, and the team at Community Hospice for their excellent attention, compassion, and support throughout her illness.
