Kevin Jay Spittle, 56 of New Philadelphia, died Monday, November 21, 2016 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a recent illness.
A son of the late Charles F. and Eva J. (Teter) Spittle, Kevin was born October 8, 1960 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.
Kevin graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1979. During his high school years, he served as the Class President and was a member of the Football and Wrestling teams. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
During his younger years, Kevin was employed by UPS, Pepsi and 7-Up. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavs and Browns as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Kevin will be remembered by his family and friends for his big heart and kind personality but one who also struggled with life choices and addiction. It is their hope for at least one person to learn from Kevin’s past.
He is survived by his siblings, Marlynn (Jerry) Hoffman of New Philadelphia, C. Eugene (Sue Ann) Spittle of Wooster, Robert (Keddi) Spittle of Stone Creek and Lori (fiancé, Terry Geers) Spittle of New Philadelphia; a brother-in-law, Perry Myers of Sugarcreek; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and his cat, Buddy.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jenny Lu Myers and a nephew, Michael Hoffman.
In keeping with Kevin’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
