Kenneth Wayne Stewart Sr., 68, of Dennison, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the Cleveland Clinic following a period of declining health.
A son of the late John and Betty (Dye) Stewart, Ken was born October 20, 1946 at Ravenna, Ohio.
On October 2, 1965 Ken married the love of his life, the former Patricia Lashley. Together the couple raised three children, Kenneth Jr., Karla and Kevin.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and worked as a construction worker for most of his life. He was an accomplished musician and played the steel guitar for various bands for more than 30 years. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed flying remote control airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat Stewart; his children, Kenneth (Michelle) Stewart Jr. of Ft. Myers, Florida, Karla (Mike) Arkenburgh of New Harrisburg, Ohio and Kevin (Amber) Stewart of Dennison; his grandchildren, Kenneth Stewart III, John Stewart, Gordon Arkenburgh, Raymond Arkenburgh, Atticus Stewart and Harlan Stewart; his brother, Jerry Stewart of Stow, Ohio; brother-in-law, Raymond (Sue) Lashley of Phoenix, Arizona and sister-in-law, Pam (Hank) Cerneva of New Harrisburg.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Stewart.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
