Kenneth Porter Norman, 94, of New Philadelphia, died July 15, 2006 at Park Village Health Care Center, in Dover.Kenneth was born on January 22, 1912 in Scio, Ohio He was a graduate of Dennison High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He worked for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration for 15 years and I.F. Manufacturing for 25 years as a furnace operator, retiring in 1978. Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in New Philadelphia, the New Philadelphia Elks Lodge #510, and the Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post #7943.Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha Norman; son, Richard K. Norman Sr; and brothers and sisters.Kenneth is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances; daughter, Janet (Jim) Burns of Dover; grandson, Richard (Tricia) Norman Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; granddaughter, Michele (Mike) Giffen of Gnadenhutten; great grandchildren, Macy and Mitchell Giffen.Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2006 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. New Philadelphia Elks Lodge #510 will conduct lodge services at 7:45 pm. Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey will conduct funeral services Tuesday, at 10:30 am in the funeral home chapel. The Tuscarawas V.F.W. will provide military honors following the service. A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center.Memorial contributions in memory of Kenneth are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, 201 W. High Ave. New Philadelphia, OH 44663
