Kenneth Paul Shingleton

Kenneth Paul Shingleton, 68, of Uhrichsville, died Monday, August 25, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.A son of the late John and Pauline (Bennett) Shingleton, Ken was born October 31, 1939 in Grafton, West Virginia.Ken moved to the Uhrichsville area in 1991 and then in 2000, he retired from Robins Industry at Waynesburg. He was previously employed by Cageon at Solon, Ohio for many years.He enjoyed playing Bingo and after his retirement, Ken took up the hobby of collecting various types of scrap items.He is survived by his wife, Hazel (Rennicker) Shingleton, whom he married on September 21, 2002; a daughter, Tina (Ronald Jr.) Hawkinberry of Uhrichsville; a step-daughter, Lisa (David) Pritchard of Salem, Ohio; grandchildren, Rhonda (John) Fellows, Eugene (Rachel) Hawkinberry, Alcinda (Richard) Snively, Ashley (Tyler) Boitnott, Ronald Hawkinberry III and Brittany Hawkinberry, a step granddaughter, Stephanie (Brandon) Gray; 11 great grandchildren and a sister Elizabeth (Gary) Housler of Uhrichsville.Ken was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Katie Shingleton and a brother, John Wayne Shingleton.Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ken’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Unrue officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.
